We are looking for an enthusiastic and hard-working Pharmacy Technician with excellent communication skills to join our busy, fully automated Pharmacy department providing a comprehensive, patient focused service to residents and visitors to the Isle of Wight.
Permanent Position and Fixed Term post available(Maternity Cover for 12 months)

Job responsibilities Registration with the General Pharmaceutical Council (GPhC) is compulsory.
To undertake dispensing duties in a safe, accurate and timely way under the direction of the dispensary manager, supervisor or responsible Pharmacist.
Final accuracy checking of dispensed items according to the SOPs, maintaining national accreditation by undertaking competencies and CPD.
You will be require to undertake oncology duties under the direction of the Aseptic Services Manager.
To maintain good housekeeping in the dispensary.
Receive prescriptions, handle payment, verify relevant exemption forms at the counter and assist in the selling over the counter medicines from the Pharmacy shop in accordance with legal requirements.
You will be required to answer the telephone, deal with enquiries and requests appropriately, referring calls and taking messages whilst ensuring strict confidentiality.
To undertake any other tasks requested by the dispensary manager following strict SOPs.
Person Specification Qualifications L4 Certificate of Higher Education in Pharmacy Technician Practice.
Or BTEC Level 3 Diploma in the Principles and Practice for Pharmacy Technicians.
Experience in a hospital or community pharmacy.
Registered or eligible to register with the General Pharmaceutical Council.
Evidence of CPD.
Physical Skills Good time management.
Decision Making.
Able to stand for long periods of time.
Managing change.
Flexibility.
Shows initiative, common sense, motivation and commitment.
Professional attitude.
Abilities Ability to prioritise work.
Ability to work effectively and accurately under pressure.
Able to work independently and in a team.
Able to use computers proficiently for Microsoft Office etc.
Communication Skills Evidence of good communication and listening skills - direct, telephone, interpersonal and written.
Disclosure and Barring Service Check This post is subject to the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act (Exceptions Order) 1975 and as such it will be necessary for a submission for Disclosure to be made to the Disclosure and Barring Service (formerly known as CRB) to check for any previous criminal convictions.
