R&D Scientist - Global CDMO in Pharmaceutical Industry - 12 month contract


Are you keen to kick-start your career in research and development in the pharmaceutical industry? If you have some R&D experience, particularly with aseptic techniques and protein analytical techniques, this could be the perfect role for you!


Planet Pharma are working closely with a global Clinical Development Manufacturing Organisation (CDMO) who are renowned for their work in the biopharmaceutical industry to develop and manufacture biologic therapies.


In this role, as the R&D Scientist, you will be responsible for providing analytical support using a range of analytical methods including protein binding and kinetic assessment using ELISA and other analytical techniques. You will also be responsible for:

  • Performing experiments, analyze and report results in a fast-paced and collaborative environment.
  • Reviewing results accuracy to draw scientific conclusions linked to experimental goals.
  • Develop skills and expertise in the Protein Function and Interaction area, with focus on product binding (e.g. ELISA, Octet and/or Biacore), metabolic changes (e.g. enzymatic assays) and characterization of Mode of Action (MoA) through cell-based assays.
  • Develop analytical skills using a range of chromatography-based approaches – such as Protein-A affinity and SEC Activities


This position is a 12 month contract and will be fully lab-based in Slough. This is a great opportunity if you have some laboratory experience but you want to further your career in research and development, and kick-start this career by working with a globally renowned company in the life sciences space.


For this position, our client is looking for someone who has:

  • Experience with analytical techniques like ELISA, enzymatic assays, cell culture etc.)
  • Knowledge of aseptic techniques
  • A passion for working in the pharmaceutical industry, in the research and development space
