The Role:


Responsible for leading the scientific and technical design, development, and optimisation of clinical multiplexed biochip assays and other immunoassay products in accordance with project development milestones and Randox design control procedures. The troubleshooting of internal and customer queries in conjunction with the Technical Support Department. Generation and upkeep of Design and Development Plans, Risk Management activities and Design Specifications. Participation in internal and external audits. The training and mentoring of other laboratory staff as required. Generation of new standard operating procedures as required. The detailed completion of reports demonstrating rigorous analysis of results. The accurate completion of all experimental work associated with the development of diagnostic products from the initial assessment of reagents to the Verification and Validation of the product Responsible for supporting the transfer to manufacturing and providing technical expertise to assist QA regulatory submissions and product commercialization. The familiarisation and keeping up to date with current/novel methods and technologies The role is interdisciplinary. It requires an individual capable of interacting with personnel / teams across a wide range of scientific and technical disciplines within the R&D department, other departments in Randox (including Engineering, Manufacturing, Quality, Purchasing, etc.), as well as with external B2B partnership organisations. The Senior Scientist will be a subject matter expert providing scientific data analysis and interpretation across multiple projects within the Clinical Immunoassay R&D group. They will be commercially driven and adept at providing critical technical reviews to projects to help establish realistic goals, milestones, and timelines. Additionally, they will provide regular professional technical progress reports to the R&D management team.

The Candidate:



Essential attributes: BSc in Biochemistry, Chemistry or a Life Science subject. PhD in a relevant biomedical or life science subject Minimum of 5 years' previous experience Thorough understanding of immunoassay principles Ability to work independently within the context of a multidisciplinary research team Possess excellent organisational and communication skills (written and oral) Excellent analytical and problem- solving skills Comprehensive data analysis skills. Be proficient in the use of Microsoft packages such as Word, Excel, Powerpoint and Outlook. Desirable attributes: Previous experience of immunoassay principles/techniques Evidence of peer-reviewed publications in internationally recognised peer-reviewed journals Familiarity with a wide variety of laboratory instrumentation including automated systemsRandox now offer free transportation from Antrim Train / Bus station each morning to take staff to our various sites in Antrim and Crumlin. This shuttle will take staff back to the station at the end of the day.
