About the role


We have an exciting new opportunity at our Menstrie manufacturing site for a Quality Systems Lead. This role involves overseeing our Audit Programme and Quality Management Systems to ensure full compliance with the Kerry Manufacturing Standard (KMS), Site Food Security and Food Safety Programs, Group Regulatory policies, Product specifications, and all other Customer requirements. The ideal candidate will possess significant experience and a deep understanding of food quality policies, procedures, and systems.

The Quality Systems Lead will provide Technical systems support to the Quality and Production, Engineering and Supply Chain teams to ensure there is a standardised approach to all QMS activities on site.

Key responsibilities

  • Lead the sites external and internal audit programme (including GSS, FSSC, Customers, Third Party, Authorities, etc) to ensure audits are completed to the required frequency and drive close out of non-conformances.
  • Ensure there is a robust QMS Audit Programme and schedule in place covering all aspects of the relevant standards, with frequency defined by risk assessment.
  • Ensure compliance to external accreditation including but not limited to: GSS, KSCA, FSSC, Halal (site audit), Kosher (site audit), GMP+, non-GMO, etc where applicable
  • Own, maintain and drive continuous improvement in the sites Quality Management System (QMS) framework procedures and documentation
  • Ensure the sites QMS, Food Safety Programme (HACCP), Allergen Management Programmes comply with all required standards and are regularly reviewed/audited
  • Lead and support the HACCP Team, developing the HACCP plans and associated documentation in line with Kerry Global HACCP standard, customer and third-party requirements.
  • Develop, manage, and coordinate the training needs for Food hygiene standards, HACCP, TACCP & Allergens
  • Management of direct reports, developing and supporting the team as
  • Generating, maintaining, and updating as necessary, of internal quality and food safety/quality site KPI’s and customer reports providing accurate data analysis.
  • Ensure that an Approved Supplier Programme and Food Defence Programme is in place and the Central Group Functions are fully supporting the site.
  • Ensure the site has a robust traceability procedure in place that is regularly challenged
  • Maintenance of the sites Crisis Management Programme
  • Responsible for customer complaint handling, responses, reporting and trending
  • Ensure all materials extended to site have necessary approvals and are correctly set up in MDG/SAP/Eurofins and are aligned to specifications.
  • Build relationships with the centralised functions to ensure the smooth introduction of new products / processes and ways of working.

Qualifications and skills

  • Significant Quality experience gained within Food / Beverage / Pharma industry with a good eye for detail.
  • Degree or equivalent in Food science/technology related subject.
  • Lead Auditor Qualification and familiar with various standards
  • Proficient written, numerical and verbal skills, fluency of English.
  • Numerical ability to record, interpret and analyse key data.
  • SAP experience is beneficial but not essential as training is provided.
  • Excellent communication skills at all levels up and down.
  • Proficient in the use of MS Office tools.
