We are looking for an Associate Director – Project Management (AD – Project Management) to join our Project Management Technical Support Unit (TSU) for the UK team.
Position Overview
Working in collaboration with the research team, the Associate Director – Project Management (AD Project Management) will organize and oversee projects to ensure they meet relevant KPIs: on time, on budget, and scope. As part of the COS Project Management Technical Support Unit (TSU), the AD Project Management is a key member of the COS project teams, works closely with and supports the Project Manager (PM) assigned to a project, the Study Lead (SL), and Research Team (RT) acting as the central point of support in project planning and execution including communication and coordinating resources to achieve project goals. The AD Project Management also manages risks, monitors progress, and ensures stakeholder satisfaction.
Responsibilities
Create project management plans, alongside the RT, including setting targets for milestones, adhering to deadlines, to monitoring and tracking project progress using MS Project
Maintain project-related PM forms (communication plans, risk assessment plans, lessons-learned repository) for assigned projects.
Partner with SLs to manage projects from initiation through project close-out, ensuring they remain within established KPIs.
Establish great rapport with COS and Client stakeholders.
Collaborate with other TSU/BU as needed.
Hold UK PM sessions or office hours to provide additional opportunities of support and collaboration.
Provide timely project progress reports (both verbal and written), communicate major shifts to project scope, project tasks, project costs, timelines, risks/issues, and escalate as needed.
Evaluate and track project audit readiness using internal audit checklists and processes.
Measure performance and adherence to SOPs and guidelines using appropriate project management tools
Collaborate and make recommendations on project decisions to the project team
Drive team efforts with a synergistic approach. Identify potential process improvements and make recommendations
Requirements
Bachelor’s degree required in related area; master’s degree
10+ years of Project Management experience in the pharmaceutical or life sciences industry
PMP certification required
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and project management software.
Strong leadership skills and ability to effectively coordinate people, timelines, and deliverables.
Demonstrated ability to build trust and partnership with clients and stakeholders, and support team growth and a positive, inclusive culture.
Experience with identifying and resolving issues efficiently; adaptable to new challenges.
Ability to align project goals with broader company and client objectives.
Demonstrated strong customer and service focus
Excellent written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills, including the ability to work in a dynamic environment with changing priorities
Demonstrated ability to be flexible and adaptable to changing business needs
Demonstrated problem-solving skills
