We're Hiring: Production and Site Manager – Lead our Product Development & Manufacturing Excellence!
Ultrasound Technologies Ltd is seeking a highly skilled and motivated Production and Site Manager (P&SM) to take charge of our Caldicot development and manufacturing site. This is an exciting opportunity to play a pivotal role in bringing new medical devices to market, optimising manufacturing operations, and driving efficiency.

What You’ll Be Doing
Product Development Leadership – Oversee end-to-end product management, from concept and requirements management to manufacturing readiness. Collaborate with engineering, production, and key OEM customers to ensure products are developed on time, within budget, and in compliance with regulatory standards.
Manufacturing Readiness & Process Optimisation – Solve complex manufacturing challenges by aligning product design with production capabilities. Ensure smooth transfer from development to manufacturing, addressing design for manufacturability (DFM) and process validation.
Supply Chain & Procurement – Implement an efficient procurement strategy, ensuring just-in-time (JIT) purchasing and managing inventory effectively through a modern ERP system.
Production Planning & Operations – Lead weekly production meetings, ensuring the right staff and resources are in place to meet manufacturing and sales demands.
Customer-Focused Service & Sales Support – Improve customer service processes and streamline operations to enhance the customer experience and reduce errors.
Financial & Reporting Responsibilities – Oversee accounts payable/receivable, payroll, and financial reporting, ensuring financial stability and compliance.
Efficiency & Cost Control – Identify and implement cost-saving initiatives while maintaining high quality and service standards.
Who You Are
✔ An experienced leader with a strong background in medical device or EMS manufacturing, product development, and operations
✔ A problem-solver who can optimise processes, improve efficiency, and modernise systems
✔ Technically adept, with a deep understanding of engineering, manufacturing, and supply chain management
✔ A strategic thinker, able to balance day-to-day operations with long-term business growth
✔ A strong communicator, comfortable working with cross-functional teams, suppliers, and key stakeholders
Qualifications & Experience
Degree in Engineering (e.g. Mechanical, Electrical, or other relevant Engineering) or a related technical field
Extensive experience in medical device or EMS manufacturing, ideally in a leadership role
Proven expertise in end-to-end product development, from requirements gathering to full-scale production
Demonstrated ability to guide products to manufacturing readiness, including design for manufacturability (DFM), process validation, and overcoming production challenges
Knowledge of ISO 13485, regulatory compliance, and quality systems
Experience with ERP implementation and supply chain management is a plus
