Process Operator

Are you experienced in operating 360 Excavators with grab attachments? Looking for a role where you can build your career within a large, sustainable manufacturing business? We’re looking for a reliable and safety-conscious individual to join our Raw Board Department as a Mobile Plant Operator, with a strong emphasis on operating mobile equipment in our busy log yard.

Your Role

As a key member of the production team, you will:

  • Operate 360 Excavators with timber grabs and other mobile plant machinery (training provided if required).
  • Support the day-to-day running of the log yard and raw board production areas.
  • Maintain a clean and safe working environment for all plant, vehicles, and equipment.
  • Accurately complete shift reports, capturing key production data.
  • Participate in structured training to safely and effectively operate all areas of the log yard and raw board department.
  • Report hazards, incidents, or machinery issues to the Shift Supervisor and Engineering team.
  • Support colleagues by covering for absences (e.g., holidays, training, sickness) to help maintain high production efficiency.

What We’re Looking For

  • Previous experience operating a 360 Excavator with a timber grab (essential or a strong advantage).
  • A valid Forklift Truck licence (or willingness to train).
  • A Loading Shovel licence (desirable – training available).
  • Good communication and teamwork skills.
  • Willingness and ability to work a 12-hour shift pattern (including nights).
