Job Description Summary:
System Integration and Test (I&T) Engineer (PMTS) serves as the systemintegrator for technologies and product lines developed using Draper's corecapabilities. In this role they plan, execute, and manage I&T activities starting from early test concept development through system certification. This includes functional simulation, subsystem and system integration and test, verification and validation (V&V), performance evaluation, and acceptance testing. System I&T Engineers leverage multi-disciplinary engineering expertise and collaborate with other Systems Engineers to establish clear, verifiable, and traceable requirements, inform and drive system concepts, architectures, and designs to promote testability, and utilizes resident expertise and lessons learned to support the development of highly reliable, robust, and complex systems. Duties/Responsibilities

  • Manage and control priorities, scope, schedule, and cost to baselines by proactively monitoring program/task performance across larger activities.
  • Independently derive system-level I&T requirements based on mission requirements and defines plans, approaches, and detailed test procedures to solve complex I&T problems.
  • Helps customers understand and adequately mitigate and resolve I&T risks and issues.
  • Subject Matter Expert (SME) able to develop and implement I&T approaches through a program lifecycle.
  • Identify program/system-level I&T technical risks and develop and execute mitigation strategies.
  • Develop, document, and teach best practices to less experienced engineers. Demonstrate strong organization, planning, and time management skills to achieve program goals.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

    Education
    Requires a bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Systems Engineering, Applied Physics, or related field.

    Experience
    Requires 7-10 years in Systems Engineering or relevant role.

    Additional Job Description:
    An M.S degree or higher in an engineering discipline (systems, mechanical, electrical or computer engineering) or a S. degree with 15+ years of relevant professional experience
    Experience with Model Based Systems Engineering (MBSE), systems engineering development process, or requirements development
    The ideal candidate will be self-motivated and capable of working at a high technical level
    Strong ability to lead teams and collaborate across internal and external functional boundaries
    Experience in developing and documenting related activities (plans, procedures, software or hardware design documentation).
    Excellent communication, collaborative, and interpersonal skills are required working in a process driven environment complying with procedures.
    Experience working with lab equipment (scopes, meters, power supplies), Hardware in the Loop, embedded software development, or support to production
    Preferred Qualifications
    Experience in any of the following areasisa plus: GN&C systems, missile systems, air defense, factory test equipment, system test and verification, inertial instruments, data acquisition and analysis, control theory, system modeling and test, integration and test of HW and SW elements, electronics-based components and subassemblies
    LabView architecture and practical application including data acquisition, analysis for sensor and instrument test fixtures
    Domain experience test equipment development experience for strategic GN&C systems, sensors or electronics modules
    Systems engineering experience including requirements development and traceability and/or verification and validation
    Experience with requirements generation and management with DOORS
    Experience with open architecture/adaptable test equipment development
    Experience with Machine Learning, Artificial Intelligence and/or Digital Engineering design
    Experience with electrical hardware design, integration or test
    Experience with software development (C++, python, LabView, java) and communication systems protocols and databases and protocols
