At UNSW, we pride ourselves on being a workplace where the best people come to do their best work.

The DNA Nanotech Lab at UNSW Sydney is recruiting a postdoctoral researcher to join a team working at the interface of supramolecular chemistry, DNA nanotechnology, and biomaterials science. The successful candidate will build functional, responsive systems from the bottom up using DNA and RNA self-assembly, under the supervision of Dr. Felix Rizzuto.

This is a hands-on research role with significant intellectual freedom. The appointee will design and execute programs that leverage the chemistry of small and light-activated molecules for non-equilibrium DNA systems; characterise materials using advanced imaging (AFM, TEM), fluorescence spectroscopy, and biostructural tools; and collaborate with a diverse team of students and researchers across chemistry, biology, and materials science. Opportunities exist for the fellow to supervise students, collaborate with industry partners on translational research, contribute to grant development, and establish new lines of inquiry within the group’s broader mission. For more info on the group, see https://www.rizzutogroup.org/..

About The Role

  • $113K - $121K plus 17% Superannuation and annual leave loading
