The Physician Associate role has been developed to work alongside the medical and nursing teams, managing patients with respiratory clinical team.

You will build on your skills in clerking, assessing and examining patients gained during your Physician Associate training, present cases to more senior members of the team, initiate and interpret investigations, and recommend appropriate management/treatment. You will be expected to liaise with other professionals and specialties as required and complete necessary documentation relating to their patients. You will be supported by a team of consultants, including a specialty registrar and a dedicated supervisor, and you will be fully integrated within your clinical team. There will be opportunities for education and service development and your skills will be vital in helping us achieve our mission of continuing to provide excellent care for patients within both in a inpatient and outpatient setting.

To provide excellent urgent and emergency care for our patients
To utilise our respiratory support unit to deliver high-quality, evidence-based care
To ensure that our team have the right skills and experience by championing high-quality multi-professional training and education
To be innovative in our service design, using data to drive forward change
To support team members and ensure they have a sense of belonging and personal development
To support colleagues, including those on the acute assessment unit, who may be managing patients with respiratory disease

About The Trust

Chelsea and Westminster Hospital NHS Foundation Trust provide services from two main hospitals, Chelsea and Westminster Hospital and West Middlesex University Hospital, and a number of clinics across London and the South-East.

We have recently completed a £30m expansion of our adult and neonatal critical care facilities at Chelsea and Westminster and are planning an ambitious £60m development of an Ambulatory Diagnostics Centre at West Middlesex.
