Our client, a prominent law firm, is seeking a patent attorney (partner track) or patent agent with an advanced degree in the Biological Sciences.
Billable hours (Open to a reduced billable hour arrangement)
IP Associates- 2,000
Agents- $170k-$196k
Schedule- 3/2
Responsibilities:
Draft and prosecute patent applications in the biological sciences sector
Conduct patent validity, non-infringement, and freedom-to-operate analyses
Participate in IP due diligence for life sciences companies
Handle patent litigation and post-grant proceedings, including IPR, PGR, and interferences
Advise clients on IP matters in emerging life sciences technologies such as gene editing and molecular diagnostics
Collaborate with clients and colleagues to manage and develop IP portfolios
Patent Attorney Qualifications:
Must have an advanced degree (Ph.D. preferred, or M.S. with industry experience) in Biological Sciences (e.g., Biology, Molecular Biology, Cellular Biology, Biochemistry, Genetics, Immunology, Virology) or an equivalent discipline
J.D. from an accredited law school
1+ years of patent prosecution experience; 3-6 years of experience is preferred
Prior law firm experience is required
Admitted to practice before the USPTO
Experience in litigation and/or post-grant proceedings is a plus, but not required
Patent Agent Qualifications:
Must have an advanced degree (Ph.D. preferred, or M.S. with industry experience) in Biological Sciences (e.g., Biology, Molecular Biology, Cellular Biology, Biochemistry, Genetics, Immunology, Virology) or an equivalent discipline
1+ years of patent prosecution experience; 1-6 years of experience is preferred
Prior law firm experience is required
