The Opportunity

Oversee all Pan-European Key Account activity ensuring effective (& profitable) management and

development of relationships with pan-European Consolidated Groups. Formulating comprehensive

Key Account strategies to meet business objectives to drive revenue growth aligned with overall

Dechra strategy and market dynamics.

Role Responsibility

So, what will you be doing? This role has a broad and varied remit and the successful candidate will have responsibility for duties including:

Develop and implement plans to achieve organisational sales and revenue targets within Pan-EU Consolidated Groups, adjusting strategies as needed.
Indirect management of EU KAMs fostering an environment there they can effectively build and maintain strong, long-term relationships with Key Accounts at a central & local level.
Deliver strong Leadership with vision and clear strategy for the team of European Key Account Managers and Co-ordinators, evaluating performance to ensure high team productivity.
Conduct regular market analysis to keep abreast of customer needs, market trends, and competitive landscape, leveraging customer insights to tailor strategies and offerings.
Collaborate with product development and marketing teams to introduce new solutions to Pan-EU Key Accounts.
Work closely with internal teams (e.g., Pan-European Own Label Director, Country Managers, Marketing, Product Development) to ensure local markets are supported appropriately & that Key Account needs are met in a customer centric manner.
Facilitate the negotiation of contracts, pricing, and terms with clients to secure mutually beneficial agreements.
Drive financial strategy and optimize the P&L for the entire Pan-European segment, including risk management, long-term forecasting, and investment decisions to support sustainable growth. Monitor the financial health of key accounts and mitigate risks.
Leverage advanced data analytics and AI-driven insights to forecast industry trends, identify growth opportunities, and shape strategic decisions. Drive a culture of data-driven decision-making across the EU Key Account team. Develop and maintain regular reporting on Pan-EU Key Account performance, initiatives and market conditions using quality data and metrics to track progress, identify trends, and inform decision-making.
Manage budgets related to account activities, ensuring efficient use of resources.
Lead high-impact, cross-functional strategic initiatives and change management projects, driving alignment with Dechra's long-term business objectives. Take ownership of projects that involve redefining business processes, digital transformation, and integration with new technologies.
Drive continuous improvement by implementing innovative processes to improve efficiency, reduce costs, and increase Key Accounts effectiveness.
Champion sustainability initiatives at the pan-European level, leading Dechra's efforts to set new industry benchmarks in sustainability and align with Environmental, Social, Governance frameworks.
Act as a mentor and leadership coach to the European KAM team, identifying and nurturing high-potential talent, building succession plans, and fostering a culture of continuous professional development and strategic thinking. Collaboration with HR to provide ongoing training and development opportunities for the Key Account management team fostering a culture of continuous learning and improvement.

Essential
Highly organized with the ability to manage multiple priorities, deadlines, and complex projects efficiently.
Depth of expertise in key account management, with significant, proven experience in building and maintaining high-value client relationships, driving strategic growth, and delivering measurable results.
Significant experience leading and developing high-performing teams across multiple regions or countries.
Proven leadership experience, particularly in managing geographically dispersed teams and fostering a culture of continuous learning and development.
In-depth knowledge of the pharmaceutical, animal health, or FMCG industry, with a strong understanding of market dynamics, trends, and challenges related to key accounts.
Strong negotiation skills with experience in contract management, pricing strategies, and mitigating financial risks for key accounts.
Demonstrated ability to use metrics, reporting tools, and data to assess performance, identify trends, and adjust strategies to meet targets.
Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to build and maintain relationships with key stakeholders and decision-makers, both internally and externally.
Demonstrated ability to use spreadsheets and other reporting tools to analyze metrics, assess performance, identify trends, and adjust strategies to meet targets.
Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to build and maintain relationships with key stakeholders and decision-makers, both internally and externally.

Desirable
Fluency in one or more European languages (e.g., French, German, or Spanish) in addition to English, to facilitate effective communication and relationship-building across regions.
Leadership in change management: Experience leading organizations or teams through periods of change, ensuring smooth transitions and maintaining high levels of engagement and performance.
Continuous improvement mindset: Experience leveraging Lean, Six Sigma, or other operational excellence methodologies to streamline processes and enhance account management efficiency.

Additional Information:

Travel may be required with this role.
This role is based in our Shrewsbury office on a hybrid basis
