Job Purpose

We are currently recruiting an Edible Oil Lab Technician for this cutting-edge site near Immingham To lead and monitor an edible oil extraction and refining Trial process, ensuring safe, efficient production of high-quality vegetable oils in line with food safety, quality, and hygiene standards.

Key Responsibilities

  • Understand Lab oil extraction process, including presses, solvent and algae

  • Monitor production parameters such as temperature, pressure, flow rates, and yields

  • Monitor algae extraction processes

  • Perform routine quality checks on raw materials, in-process oils, and finished products

  • Record production data accurately, including batch records, yields, and downtime

  • Follow strict lab safety, hygiene, and HACCP procedures at all times

  • Identify process issues, faults, or deviations and report or correct them promptly

  • Carry out monitoring and data collation for each trial plant

  • Work collaboratively with production, quality, and maintenance teams

  • Ensure compliance with health & safety, food safety, and environmental regulations

  • Support continuous improvement initiatives to improve efficiency, quality, and waste

    Skills & Experience

  • Experience in food manufacturing, oil extraction processing, or bioprocess manufacturing

  • Understanding of edible oils, fats, or food processing operations (some training provided)

  • Ability to operate industrial machinery and follow technical Lab procedures

  • Good attention to detail and record-keeping skills

  • Awareness of food hygiene and safety standards

  • Basic process troubleshooting skills

  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
