Job Description

Lead the development and enhancement of the AromaWellness platform, a state-of-the-art initiative aimed at understanding and leveraging the connection between fragrances and human emotions, behaviors, and physiology. Oversee the integration of biosensors and advanced technologies to create fragrances with scientifically proven benefits. Develop and improve the CPL Aroma wellness platform with new and innovative techniques.


The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing the entire lifecycle of new technology projects, from ideation to commercialization, ensuring alignment with our strategic goals and market needs.


This is a global position; the candidate can be based anywhere with a CPL entity.


Accountabilities & Responsibilities


  1. Develop and implement a comprehensive technology strategy that aligns with the company's vision and business objectives.
  2. Identify and evaluate emerging technologies and trends that could impact the industry, assessing their potential for integration into our product and service offerings.
  3. Identify and mitigate risks associated with new technology development and implementation.
  4. Establish metrics and KPIs to measure the success and impact of new technology initiatives.
  5. Ensure project objectives are met within the required timeframe and customer needs.
  6. Lead cross-functional teams in the development and implementation of new technology projects, ensuring timely and successful delivery.
  7. Work closely with internal stakeholders to ensure seamless integration of new technologies.
  8. Establish and maintain relationships with external technology partners, vendors, and research institutions to leverage external expertise and resources.


Research & Development


  1. Identify raw materials/naturals for testing their performance and stability in products being manufactured by CPL globally.
  2. Organize and oversee testing sessions with volunteers to evaluate the effectiveness of AromaWellness fragrances and other innovations.


Communication & Promotion


  1. Present and communicate our technologies' benefits and propose opportunities to introduce them to the market.
  2. Monitor the success rate of R&D new technology and continue to identify opportunities for growth and development.
  3. Identify client needs and market trends, perform market analysis for new product opportunities, and present ideas or strategies to Divisional Sales Teams (and/or customers).
  4. Work toward achieving the sales targets set for the R&D new technology platform.


Skills & Attributes Required
Qualifications

A bachelor's degree in the Science field, ideally neuroscience, biomedical engineering, sensory science, or related disciplines, with circa 5 years’ experience in research and development, preferably in the fragrance industry, or


Post-graduate in the Science field, ideally neuroscience, biomedical engineering, sensory science, or related disciplines, with at least 2 to 3 years’ experience in research and development, preferably in the fragrance industry.


Skills and Knowledge


  • Enthusiastic, entrepreneurial individual with a positive attitude and great interpersonal skills, able to obtain buy-ins from all parties.
  • Experience working with biomedical devices.
  • Experience conducting sensory and consumer research.
  • Practical experience in statistical analysis of raw data, visualization, and reporting of results.
  • Interest in aromatherapy is a plus.
  • Highly analytical ability.
  • Proven problem-solving skills.
  • Understanding of industry regulations.
  • Excellent written and spoken communication skills.
  • Proficient in Office 365, spreadsheets, and calculations software.
  • Excellent planning and organizational skills.
