Metal Fabrication Technician | Old Basing | £35,000 - £40,000

Be part of a leading mechanical and industrial engineering company. Our client is looking for a Metal Fabrication Technician to join their team in Old Basing. You will be instrumental in producing and assembling various metal components and structures. Your work will be transferred to the assembly line and turned into a finished machine that is supplied to process lines in significant food, pharmaceutical and additive manufacturing industries worldwide.

Your Role:

  • Prepare and operate fabrication machinery. This includes: press brakes, plasma cutters, and sheet rollers.

  • Perform welding and fabrication tasks using various methods such as MIG, TIG, and laser welding. Training on laser welding will be provided if required.

  • Read and interpret technical drawings and CAD files to create sheet metal components.

  • Use hand and power tools to assemble, clean, and finish products to specification.

  • Collaborate with design engineers and production team members to improve fabrication processes and manage production challenges.

    Key Requirements:

  • Previous experience in sheet metal fabrication and welding environment (TIG).

  • A keen eye for detail with a commitment to producing high-quality, accurate work.

  • Familiarity with relevant industry standards and a strong awareness of workplace health and safety practices.

  • Experience in reading and interpreting technical drawings.

  • Strong understanding of sheet metal materials, fabrication methods, and machining processes.

    £35-40k + Competitive package, generous holiday allowance and pension.
