Medical Director, UK - Rare Diseases This is anexciting opportunity to play a key role in bringing a life-changingtreatment for Osteogenesis Imperfecta (and other rare diseases) tomarket in the UK working within a dynamic and collaborativeenvironment. If you are an MD with experience in and passion formedical affairs and rare diseases, we encourage you to apply. Thesuccessful candidate will play a pivotal role in developing andexecuting the UK medical affairs plan, collaborating closely withcross-functional teams and external stakeholders. In this role, youwill work closely with the Head of Medical Affairs to ensure thesuccessful delivery of pre-launch and launch activities, includingscientific interactions, real-world evidence programs, and medicalstrategy development. Key Responsibilities: 1. Develop andimplement the UK medical affairs plan with a primary focus onpre-launch activities for OI. 2. Refine and execute the mapping ofOI treatment centers, identifying key hubs and spokes, andcollaborating with the Country Patient Access Lead to gatherdetailed insights into patient numbers, treatment pathways, and theoverall OI landscape. 3. Conduct field scientific interactions withhealthcare professionals (HCPs) ensuring compliance with localregulations and guidelines. 4. Support the SATURN Real WorldEvidence (RWE) Program in alignment with global medical strategies.5. Attend local OI scientific meetings, engage with Key OpinionLeaders (KOLs) and HCPs, and seek opportunities to present relevantscientific publications in line with the broader scientificcommunications strategy. 6. Participate in Early Scientific Advicemeetings, collaborating with local teams to prepare materials andpresent the medical strategy. 7. Work closely with the PatientAccess Lead to engage KOLs in dossier strategy development andsupport key stages of the reimbursement process, including hearingpreparations. 8. Contribute to specific Patient Access StrategyPlan, ensuring alignment between medical and patient access teamsfor the successful launch of the OI treatment. Qualifications andExperience: 1. Qualified Doctor of Medicine (MD). 2. Additionalqualifications such as a university degree, Master’s, or Ph.D. inpharmaceutical science, healthcare management, or a related fieldare an advantage. 3. 7-10 years of experience in medical affairs,preferably in a biotech or pharmaceutical company. 4. Knowledge ofthe healthcare systems within the UK, with experience in thereimbursement pathway being an advantage. 5. Proven track record ofworking in rare disease therapy development, with hands-onexperience in medical affairs strategy and delivery duringlate-stage development and launch. Personal Attributes: 1. Abilityto work effectively within a cross-functional, matrix environment,contributing both to strategic planning and hands-on execution. 2.Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with demonstratedexperience working across international teams to deliverhigh-quality results. 3. High emotional intelligence (EQ) with theability to build trusted, long-term relationships within raredisease communities and across diverse stakeholders. 4.Entrepreneurial mindset with the ability to innovate and shape newmarkets, particularly for therapies where no current alternativesexist. 5. Self-motivated with a proactive, "can-do" attitude and acollaborative, low-ego team ethos. 6. Strong organizational skills,with the ability to manage multiple projects while respectingtimelines and deadlines. 7. Excellent communication with experiencepresenting complex information to various audiences. 8. Proficiencyin Microsoft Office, especially Excel and PowerPoint, with strongpresentation and analytical skills. 9. Willingness to travel asneeded and participate in face-to-face team meetings.
