DescriptionWe have an exciting career opportunity for a Mechanical Design Engineer who will work as part of our Design Team developing robotic & automation solutions for our customer client base. The successful candidate will design innovative automation solutions by working with cross functional engineering teams, designing the mechanical elements our of automation solutions

Our Client produce high quality automation solutions that impacts on the execution of real-world machinery and processes. Our automation enables autonomous aqua drones to navigate the seas, robots to assemble complex products, pharmaceuticals to produce life-changing medicines and so much more.

Our Client offer a complete solution from the Factory Floor to the Cloud utilizing our internal departments for Automation, Electrical & Mechanical Design and Build, Robotics and Software Development. Our highly experienced team of Engineers have a wealth of knowledge spanning decades in various fields. This experience means we possess cross discipline capabilities when integrating systems from the Factory Floor to the Cloud.

Our Client are developing the panel building business of the future utilising 3D panel design to facilitate semi-automated control panel manufacturing.

Duties & Responsibilities:

You will be responsible for design and development of automated equipment to meet customer requirements, owning design elements from concept to project delivery.
3D and 2D design and detailing (using Autodesk Inventor and Solidworks)
Component selection and specification
Engineering calculations
Design analysis and optimization
Project Documentation (Technical document creation, review, and control)
You will contribute to the delivery of projects, to the required scope, budget, schedule, and quality, reporting back on project progress and performance; from concept/proposal, through execution, delivery, and review.
Ensure project requirements are reviewed and understood, and agreed with the customer.
Plan and prioritise work, across multiple projects, and ensure completion.
Work with multi-discipline teams to achieve project and company goals.
Collaborate with project teams, sharing knowledge and working on problem solving.
Contribute to Continuous Improvement within the department and across the business.
3D Design of Mechatronic equipment including Mechanism; transfer systems, servo systems, robotics, Pneumatics, electrical equipment and machine guarding.
Must be a self starter with a good attention to detail, willing to take ownership and responcibility to reliase project milestones.
Lead mechatronic design team on projects
Proven track record of problem solving and delivering solutions.
Project management experience advantageous
Preparing detailed safety Risk assessments and FMEAs
Experience in Machine Design roles
Qualifications & Skills:
Degree in Mechanical Engineering 8+ or similar discipline to level.
7+ years experience in the field of Mechanical Design/Engineering with responsibility for design Sign -Off, Installation and Comissioning
Experience in the use of Solidworks is essential Autodesk Inventor or equivalent package considered
Experience in the development of automated equipment is an advantage.
Full Drivers License is required
