An opportunity has arisen for a highly motivated individual to lead a Manufacturing Shift Team at our client's manufacturing site in Great Yarmouth. This role is responsible for leading the team to achieve production plans safely and efficiently, ensuring all output meets GMP requirements.

Reporting to the Manufacturing Manager, the Manufacturing Shift Leader also deputizes for the Manufacturing Coordinator when needed.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee and manage the Manufacturing shift team.

  • Set an example in timekeeping, work ethic, H&S, and GMP standards, ensuring the team maintains these standards.

  • Ensure production meets planning and quality requirements in line with company procedures.

  • Enforce compliance with safety and quality protocols on shift.

  • Ensure team members are trained in relevant processes, with proper documentation.

  • Lead continuous improvement initiatives and Lean projects within the department.

  • Create, review, and update SOPs, WIs, Forms, and BPRs as needed.

  • Conduct non-conformance investigations and CAPAs, assisting with change control processes.

  • Coordinate with support departments to resolve issues efficiently and maintain schedules.

  • Manage employee relations effectively, both informally and formally.

  • Act as the responsible person on site outside regular hours.

    Ideal Attributes and Experience:

  • Proven experience in supervising and leading a production/manufacturing team, with strengths in performance monitoring and delegation.

  • Self-motivated with a proactive, "can-do" attitude.

  • Strong interpersonal skills with assertiveness in managing staff matters.

  • Working knowledge of HR principles and procedures.

  • Excellent verbal and written communication abilities.

  • High problem-solving aptitude, with a proactive approach to identifying improvements.

  • Lean Six Sigma Green Belt (or similar) with knowledge of tools like DMAIC or Kaizen.

  • Experience in regulated manufacturing/production (e.g., pharmaceutical or food) and related documentation.

  • Familiarity with appraisals and performance management.

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and other computer systems.
