The Opportunity
A fantastic opportunity for an experienced Lead project manager has become available, where you will be responsible for working in a function delivering critical upgrades to National Electrical Infrastructure.

You will take direct responsibility and be accountable for delivery of several complex multi-discipline design and build projects, supporting a team of project managers and engineers to deliver projects under your control. You will co-ordinate the activities of all the team members including planning, engineering, procurement, quality and commercial. You will ensure that all requirements are fully understood and translated into a clear, traceable action plan and manage the implementation.

Size of projects- range up to £5m

Remuneration & Benefits
Excellent salary package of £65,000. to £80,000 Per Anum Depending on experience + car allowance.

Your duties and responsibilities will be
The primary focus for this role is to manage key critical project for the Engineering Solutions business unit, to ensure that contractual obligations are met on time and budget.
Lead and co-ordinate a multi-disciplinary project team to deliver the project objectives in a structures and efficient manner.
Managing the commercial, technical and quality issues on the project.
Creating, maintaining and driving progress again a project program.
Ensure project commercial obligation are undertaken on time including registering, compiling, submitting, and negotiating extensions of time, extras to contract and other claims as appropriate.
Always ensuring compliance with company processes and procedure.
Carrying out project reviews to control projects, check progress, manage cost, identify deviations from plan and detect risk. One of the key requirements of this role is to manage change evolution.
To prepare estimates in a logical and precise manner to the highest quality and engineering standards in the required time frames. To liaise closely with both internal and external suppliers and sub-contractors to obtain competitive quotations and relevant information for the tender document.
To carry out thorough take-offs in a manner that will provide as much detail as possible for the purpose of tender reviews prior to tender submission.
To positively contribute to profitable performance and assist in financial control of contracts through the application of innovative ways of working and technical solutions.
To attend and play an active role in kick-off meetings, site visits, team meetings and tender review meetings with clients, ensuring that information is communicated back to the business and other team members.
To provide weekly and monthly plans and reports to the client and internal senior leaders.
To maintain a high level of client interaction ensuring relationships are positive at all times.
To maintain and monitor client commercial collaboration software.
To provide compliance with CDM, SHE and Quality standards on relevant project activities by personal leadership and through members of the team.
To proactively administer contract, in conjunction with contract option and relevant clauses.
To assist the site manager with forecasting of labour allocation.
To assist the QS with project setup, cost allocations and project controls.
To procure materials, subcontract orders and management of subcontractors.
To provide supervision of design and ensure integration of design requirements across all project disciplines.
To effectively manage a team of engineering personnel to allow for successful project delivery.
To undertake and contribute in design development and review meetings.You will have the following qualifications and experience 
You will possess previous experience of estimating packages of work to the highest
standards of quality, engineering and ‘best practice’ required within the power and energy industry.
You will be able to demonstrate effective communication, negotiating and influence skills that enable them to work at all levels within the organisation and with external stakeholders.
Good knowledge of Commercial practices, including acknowledge of the practical application of contract law.
High level of computer literacy including competence in the use of MS Office and Project Management Tools.
Ability to manage and control project in High Voltage(HV)substation environments.
Flexibility to travel to any customer or supplier site when required to fulfil the requirements of the position. Full UK driving license.
Good knowledge and practical experience of Project Management practices.
Good knowledge and experience of NEC 4 Contracts.
Good Knowledge and have some experience of planning software.
Good Knowledge of project cycle inclusive of optioneering, design and build.

Construction site management experience
Previous experience of working in the Power and Energy sector
Degree or equivalent experience in any related Engineering & Project Management qualification.
Electrical/electronic Engineering qualifications such as HNC, ON Cor City and Guilds qualifications.
NEC 4 Project Management Accreditation.It's great if you also have the following
Good knowledge of HSE systems and compliance.
Good knowledge of QA systems and compliance.
Good knowledge of CDM requirements.
Good knowledge of PrimaveraP6/ program development.
Good knowledge of Design processes and Project Life Cycle.
Good knowledge of Temporary Works.
Good Knowledge of Low Voltage Electrical Design
Good understanding of HV Transmission.The nature of the incoming workload is unpredictable and usually has imposed deadlines therefore the job holder must possess excellent organisation skills, flexibility and the ability to often work under considerable time pressure.

The setting for the role
Risks and Hazards are in line with working on a pharmaceutical and chemical site. These can include noise, slips, trips and falls (high-gloss floors), mechanical hazards, extreme temperature and humidity, pressurised equipment, radiation, chemical, biological, explosive atmospheres, working at height and confined spaces during cleaning maintenance and repair.
