About The Role


We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Lead Pharmacist to join our Pharmacy Services team at Scimitar Park, Harlow. This is a full-time, on-site role with no on-call or night shift requirements. You will lead a team of direct reports, providing mentorship, coaching, and operational oversight to ensure the safe and effective delivery of specialist medications.

This is a non-patient-facing role, focused on high-cost, specialist medications not commonly seen in community pharmacy. You’ll be responsible for ensuring regulatory compliance, maintaining high standards of pharmaceutical care, and supporting continuous improvement initiatives.

Key Responsibilities
-Act as the Responsible Pharmacist overseeing all pharmacy operations
-Ensure compliance with GPhC standards and regulatory requirements
-Lead, mentor, and develop a team of pharmacists and technicians
-Provide subject matter expertise to business projects and audits
-Oversee the safe and accurate dispensing of medications
-Collaborate with internal stakeholders to drive service excellence
What a Typical Day Looks Like
-Leading the shift team, ensuring smooth operations
-Reviewing and checking prescriptions for accuracy and compliance
-Supporting technical training and mentoring staff
-Liaising with internal teams (e.g., QA, compounding, customer services)
-Managing performance and supporting development plans

About You


-GPhC-registered Pharmacist with Independent Prescribing qualification
-Proven experience in a senior or team leadership role
-Independent Prescriber with practical experience
-Strong understanding of regulatory compliance and quality assurance
-Ability to manage high-pressure situations and maintain composure
-Excellent communication, mentoring, and organisational skills
