Job Description:

The Lead Commissioning Manager (LCxM) is responsible for the execution of Commissioning Management on one or more projects. The role includes management of the operations and finances of projects under their control. The LCxM will directly report to the Divisional Director of which Division they are placed.


Key Responsibilities

  • Maintain a good relationship with key stakeholders including promoting Sygna and looking for new opportunities
  • Total completion of projects in line with client expectations
  • Compliance and promotion of Sygna’s H&S standards
  • Input into developing excellent practices and procures for the operation of the business
  • Maintaining a capability to deliver 3-4 concurrent projects
  • Assist the Divisional Director with bidding for new opportunities, including but not limited to, technical and schedule input to the bid document, and presenting in post tender interviews
  • Provide a ‘monthly’ report to the SMT detailing key project risks, potential opportunities to increase project margins, and accurate project progress reporting


Project Related Information:

  • Full control of updating the ‘Delivery Tracker’, including fortnightly/monthly updates to the Divisional Director
  • Understand the project scope, fee and deliverables and ensure it is followed
  • Attend, and chair where appropriate, meetings with the Client's commissioning management representative, sub-contractor / specialist contractors commissioning management team and other team members
  • Responsible for the ensuring the successful delivery of the commissioning plan
  • Compile and issue a weekly progress report to clients
  • Advise on programming commissioning related items or if required completing a commissioning programme
  • Assist the Divisional Director in recruitment within the sector
  • Compliance of Sygna H&S standards on all projects
  • Forecast labour requirements for the project and inform the director if changes are needed
  • Lead the Cx Review of design information related to projects under the CxM’s control


Financial:

  • Assist the Divisional Director in achieving forward order booking to ensure a sustainable business
  • Be aware of the Minimum Gross Margin on all projects – the percentage of the margin to be agreed with Divisional Director and a project-by-project basis
  • Continuously maximize opportunities and minimize risks on all projects on all issues that influence project margin
  • Ensure proper order placement of all subcontractors in accordance with company procedures and best practice
  • Maintain a relationship with all external consultants/Clients for future win work opportunities
  • Highlight any risk before it occurs wherever possible to the Divisional Director
