We provide strategic council, challenge and solutions to clients through our launch offerings which are built around 4 key pillars – Launch capabilities and leadership, Launch planning and execution, Organisational launch process’ and Launch management enabled through a software platform (Our simple pragmatic proprietary system IgniteTM).

Our Launch consultancy team share their wealth of launch excellence expertise to support clients from helping build high performing launch teams through to accelerating launch at day zero. We will work with the early asset teams through to commercialisation and post launch across functions and countries in a connected and seamless way.

Responsibilities / Position overview

We currently have an exciting opportunity for a Launch Excellence Partner, to join our growing Launch Excellence team. As a Partner you will be involved in the build and delivery of our launch excellence programmes, co-create launch project plans with client teams. You may also be involved as a core member of our clients launch team, providing council, project support and guidance as they move through their launch build and execution. This role is a critical role for our clients as it helps build high performing launch teams, breaks down silos, fosters co-creation and collaboration as well as navigate and manage their launch.

As Launch Excellence partner you will ensure our clients have:

  • Well thought through cross-functional launch project plans early in the planning process
  • Effective launch team governance and ways of working
  • Processes so that launch progress is well monitored, managed, challenged, and communicated.

Your role is also to enable and build strong cross functional collaboration across the teams and geographies, fostering good discussion and decision making along with driving and ensuring continuous sharing of best practice within Lumanity and our clients.

Ultimately supporting our clients to secure timely launch readiness and achieve launch success, the Launch Excellence Partner will do this by:

  • Acting as a launch excellence champion proactively using you knowledge and experience to constructively challenge launch plans and client thinking
  • Encouraging use of and compliance with launch excellence frameworks, tools, and best practice project management methodology
  • Supporting commercial launch leads and their launch teams to agree their accountabilities, ways of working and governance
  • Preparing and co-facilitating Launch team initiation and project planning workshops
  • Preparing and facilitating operational launch team / workstream meetings, ensuring rigour in capturing and following up on decisions, actions, risks, and issues
  • Recording and tracking project plan and KPI progress on our Launch management platformIgnite after gaining updates via one-to-one or team meetings
  • Coaching the client teams on the use of Ignite to ensure good uptake of the platform once implemented
  • Maintaining key launch project documentation such as the team charter and RAID log (Risks, Actions, Issues, Decisions)
  • Flagging overdue actions, bottlenecks or issues with milestones that may impact the launch impact, quality, or date
  • Providing feedback, information and status update reports for launch and client leads and senior management
  • Supporting launch leads/teams prepare for launch readiness reviews
  • Fostering a culture of continuous improvement by encouraging review and documentation of successes and areas for improvement throughout and after the launch
  • Supporting the existing client project and account management team with day-to-day management of the client partnership, identifying opportunities for account growth, and ensuring client satisfaction and renewal of business

*This is a remote or hybrid role, but UK clients may wish you to be based at their site.

*Most of the work for international clients is remote. You may be required to work outside of 9-5 to accommodate meetings in different time zones.

*There may be occasional travel to global offices for project planning workshops, affiliate offices or to meet at congresses/ locations central to multiple affiliates (subject to any travel restrictions in place)

Qualifications

  • 5+ years’ experience in a pharma commercialisation launch team role at a local, regional and/or global level (Europe, US, Japan, and Asia) with solid appreciation of the key milestones and deliverables required across all key functions
  • Experience of launch requirements across the pharmaceutical value chain with understanding of clinical development, regulatory, marketing, medical, market access, product supply, commercial excellence and sales milestones, activities, and deliverables
  • 5+ years’ experience of successful and complex project management (project management accreditation such as PMP or PRINCE 2 would be advantageous)
  • Experience of pharmaceutical ethics and compliance standards
  • Degree level education (a life sciences discipline would be advantageous)
  • Experience in consulting and client facing roles preferable but not essential

  • Ability to build and advance project plans in ambiguous and often changing environments with strong organisational and time management skills
  • Ability to multi-task and focus on more than one launch or client at a time
  • Ability to work in a matrix environment and manage / partner with cross-functional teams
  • Proactive, pragmatic, and collaborative mindset
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication and presentation skills with ability to give honest and constructive feedback in an objective non-confrontational manner
  • Ability to work with detail and maintain documentation relating to project milestones, activities and KPIs
  • Strong eye and concern for quality ensuring all outputs and deliverables are professional, accurate and to the right standard
  • Strong Microsoft Office skills: Confident and proficient in PPT, Excel and Word
  • Tech savvy: Comfortable using collaboration tools such as Zoom/Teams, and Ignite (IE's Launch Management Platform)
  • Be proactive, both in your critical thinking and in management of projects
  • Be open minded to feedback, personal learning and development
