The site is easily accessible from Coalville, Tamworth, Lichfield, Cannock, Rugeley, Stafford, Burton Upon Trent, Derby, Castle Donnington, Loughborough, Melton Mowbray, Leicester, Lutterworth, Nuneaton, Birmingham, Solihull and the surrounding areas.Here at Tarmac, we are working hard to create a dynamic and inclusive environment and it’s important that our people come from a variety of different backgrounds.Main ResponsibilitiesReporting directly to the Laboratory Manager, the Laboratory Technician is a key role which includes robust and rigorous testing of products to ensure they reach the correct quality, safety requirements and company standards.You will be responsible for carrying out product compliance testing, logging and reporting results, enabling corrective action to be taken. You will carry out testing of incoming raw materials and following safe systems of work to ensure continuous production of finished goods with occasional shift work when required.Main responsibilities include but are not restricted to:Testing products from the Pozament and wider Tarmac businessSafe operation of laboratory machineryEnsuring workplace tidinessEnsure equipment is within calibrationWorking to achieve laboratory safety goalsAchieve laboratory KPIs ensuring customer demand is metThe Ideal CandidateThis is a varied, complex and rewarding position in which the ideal Laboratory Technician will be able to demonstrate an understanding of raw material usage in cementitious products to be able to make decisions during optimization of finished goods.
