SC Johnson Professional have an exciting opportunity for an Laboratory Technician to join the team! You will join us on a full time, permanent basis, and in return you will receiev a competitive salary.

Location: Denby, Derbyshire

Rotating Shift Pattern: 6am-2pm, 10am-6pm and 2pm-10pm 

Function:  Supply Chain UK Pro

About the Laboratory Technician role:

As a Laboratory Technician, you will be responsible for ensuring that all products are manufactured to a high standard, whilst maintaining the product batch pass rate. You’ll also be responsible for carrying out raw material and finished product analysis in line with SC Johnson’s company specifications.

About the Team:

Our laboratory team currently consists of our Technical Manager, 2 Process Chemists, 4 Laboratory Technicians and a Microbiologist. The successful candidate will work within this team to carry out microbiological testing and chemical testing for our raw materials and finished products. The position will predominantly be based within our labs with regular contact with key stakeholders within Production, Quality and Supply Chain.

Responsibilities as our Laboratory Technician include:

Carry out raw material and finished product analysis in accordance with the requirements of Good Laboratory Practice (GLP)/Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP) and in line with company specifications. 

Carry out microbiological testing in accordance with the requirements of GLP/GMP.

Record the results of this analysis accurately and legibly.

Calculate any adjustments necessary where products are found to be outside specifications and communicate this to process operatives.

Input raw material deliveries into relevant systems and inform Purchasing of any problems.

Experience you’ll bring as our Laboratory Technician:

Able to perform scientific measurements and record results

Scientific Qualifications at either GCSE, A-level, or University Degree level.

Behaviors you’ll need:

A willingness to learn to perform scientific analysis.

Proficient with IT systems – Microsoft Office.

Able to work independently, as well as part of a team.
