As our company grows and develops, we are ever expanding our teams. We have a great opportunity for a dedicated Microbiology Laboratory Technician to join our Environment & Safety Division and wear the SOCOTEC badge with pride.

We are looking for a proactive, reliable and committed Microbiology Laboratory Technicianto join our Environmental team. It is key that you are able to work efficiently and independently, as well as working well as part of a wider team. While you may be performing the same array of tests day to day, the projects you undertake will change, creating variety in your day to day life.

The tasks you will undertake will include (but are not limited to):

• Prepare a variety of samples ready for analysis.
• Analysis of samples. To include water, soil, swab and fuel samples.
• Media Preparation
• Calibration of laboratory equipment

To be successful in this role, you will be able to demonstrate:

• Must be able to work well as part of a team
• The ability to follow written procedures accurately
• Be able to work independently when required and use own initiative
• Motivated and be able to prioritise workload

Our Environmental team is made up of many different specialists all operating in within different areas of expertise. The main areas we cover are Environmental Monitoring and Consultancy together with specialist laboratories to support our services. Our services rangefrom on site monitoring and sample collection, ranging from local businesses to large Government contracts, to consultancy works on large contaminated land projects, complimented with onsite works for dust, noise, and local exhaust emissions.We pride ourselves in our ability to consult, monitor and test for our clients, supporting all their needs in one place, using our highly trained employees.
