Job Overview UK Grade: 7 Hours: Full time, field-basedrole with responsibility for a geographically defined area.Purpose: The Medical Science Liaison plays a vital role in theexchange of scientific information on a peer-to-peer basis with KeyExternal Experts. The Medical Science Liaison is responsible forbecoming a technical and clinical expert on designated product(s)and its related clinical areas and competitors. With thisexpertise, the Medical Science Liaison provides expert support tointernal customers and external healthcare professionals in adefined geographic area of the UK. Accountabilities / Measures: 1.Therapy Area Expertise: The MSL will have expertise in andknowledge of medicines, patient treatment trends, clinical trials,scientific activities, and official guidelines within the diseasearea they work and are expected to continuously update thisexpertise and knowledge. 2. External Engagement: The MSL willrespond appropriately with accurate scientific data to unsolicitedscientific questions from Health Care Professionals (HCPs) forproducts/brands with a marketing authorisation (on- and off-label)and for products in development, all in compliance with companypolicies and legal and ethical standards and other applicableregulations. 3. Contributor to Brand Plans & Strategies: TheMSL contributes to the development of brand plans and strategies bycommunicating KEE insights about the disease area, unmet medicalneeds, and treatment patterns/guidelines. 4. Clinical TrialSupport: The MSL should receive and process investigators'proposals for IISs in line with relevant SOP. The MSL shouldparticipate actively in providing input to the Daiichi SankyoClinical Operations and Clinical Research Organisations regardingsite and investigator potential for Daiichi Sankyo sponsoredstudies. 5. Compliance: The MSL should fully understand and becompliant with company SOPs and the latest ABPI Code of Practiceand code cases relevant to the role, performing all duties in anethical and legally compliant manner. Technical/ProfessionalKnowledge: 1. A MD or PhD is strongly preferred; however, a degreemust be gained in one or more of the following disciplines:medicine, nursing, pharmacy or the pharmaceutical/life sciences. 2.Understanding of the MSL role, and the ABPI Code of practice. 3.Competent user of Microsoft Office 365 software products. 4.Knowledge of clinical trial design and process. 5. Must have theability to present complex scientific information, tailoring thecontent to the audience. 6. Ability to quickly and accuratelylearn, retain and present detailed scientific information. 7.Knowledge of the UK healthcare system, and the UK pharmaceuticalindustry. 8. Full driving licence, and the ability to travel withinthe UK. 9. Self-motivated, collaborative and goal-oriented. 10.Ability to work in a matrix and multicultural organisation. 11.Proven experience of presenting complex scientific information toHCPs at varying levels including Key External Experts. 12.Experience of working in a similar field-based role, clinicalresearch or other similar role where you have strong evidence ofleading healthcare professional interactions. 13.
