THE FIRM A UK and international law firm. THE ROLE Anexperienced Commercial Tech & Media lawyer is sought to join anexpanding team in London which advises on a broad range ofcommercial matters across a number of technology sectors. Clientsrange from large blue chips to smaller commercial entities workingwith cutting-edge technologies. On the IP side, you will beadvising on commercial agreements relating to the development,protection, and exploitation of IP. Clients include leadinguniversities and research institutions in addition to working withentrepreneurial businesses on high-profile projects involving IP,complex licensing, and technology transfer agreements. Some of thefirm's IP lawyers work with life sciences clients, includingadvising on pharmaceutical products, medical devices,personalised/stratified medicine projects, and eHealth/digitalhealth technologies. You will have the opportunity to develop aspecialism in this area if that is of interest. Other clientsinclude innovative companies working in sectors such as food anddrink, consumer products, media, energy, and oil & gas. On theIT and Telecoms side, the work will involve significant projectsand high-value transactions such as outsourcing, systemdevelopment, and software contracts for blue-chip clients. Clientsinclude those in the financial and public sectors to innovativetechnology companies who supply solutions to customers around theworld. They are actively involved in new and developing areas suchas Fintech, blockchain, robotics, and artificial intelligence. Theteam also advises a variety of technology clients who processsignificant amounts of personal data on compliance with privacylaws, including the General Data Protection Regulation. The roleincludes: 1. Drafting and negotiating a broad range of commercialcontracts such as collaboration, licensing, supply, anddistribution agreements; 2. Involvement in a broad range ofcommercial, IP, IT, and data protection advice; 3. Providingefficient professional support for partners and team members; 4.Developing professional relationships with clients; 5. Supportingthe wider group in developing business; 6. Involvement in marketingevents. ABOUT YOU To meet the demands of the role, the firmenvisages this to be 4pqe+ but candidates outside of this may alsobe considered. - Knowledge of IP, IT, technology, and dataprotection issues in addition to having developed strong generalcommercial expertise. - Appropriate level of post-qualificationexperience in a City, major regional or leading international firmor industry in-house company.
