Hygiene Expert

New Inn, Torfaen

Permanent Mon - Fri (6am - 2:30pm)

£12.75 per hour plus overtime available

Reporting to: Hygiene Manager / Production Shift Manager

At Bama UK, the Hygiene Expert is expected to work effectively as part of a team to produce a range of products as required. All jobs to be carried out in a safe, hygienic and efficient manner, ensuring the quality of the product at all times in keeping with the requirements of the Company’s Health & Safety, Hygiene and Quality Policies and Procedures.

Undertaking cleaning practices, to ensure that strict hygiene standards are achieved and maintained to satisfy and exceed industry and customer specifications. To ensure all aspects of the hygiene service are carried out and maintained to the required standard.

Job Requirements:

  • Promote safety in the workplace and comply with legislation, identify risk areas to management for resolution.

  • Assist in any cleaning duties as requested.

  • Assisting in the training and development of fellow employees when required.

  • Ensuring the smooth running of cleaning operations on the site; Adhering to cleaning hours/chemicals/water usage/cleaning materials/cleaning equipment.

  • Ensure Chemical security onsite and to manage the provision of hygiene chemicals and dosing equipment on site - maintenance of equipment and to oversee the safe storage, decant, transport and use of chemicals on site.

  • Staff training including assessments; identify awareness of health & safety and food safety etc.

  • High level cleaning.

  • Problem solving.

  • CIP/silo base cleaning.

  • Cleaning of – ovens/blast freezers/chillers/evaporator units/ice machines.

  • Jet washing/ amenities areas.

  • Any other duties as required by management.

    Qualifications and Experience

  • Previous experience in a similar role in the Food/Pharmaceutical Industry.

    Competencies and Behaviours:

  • Attention to detail and conscientious nature to ensure all tasks are completed

  • Relative experience in a similar environment and working knowledge of relative legislative criteria and industry standards for food production

    Hours:

    Mon - Fri (6am - 2:30pm - 30 minute unpaid lunch = 40 hours per week)
