Excellent opportunity working as part of a large Health & Safety team for a chemical manufacturing and engineering business. The company in question works with a number of a high-profile clients and you will be exposed to a number of a innovative projects and diverse risks. The role will involve national travel (2-3 days per week) and you can be based from any of the company's offices in Berkshire, Hertfordshire, Derbyshire or Manchester.


The Health & Safety Manager will be responsible for:


  • Assisting the Health and Safety Leader and Head of Department in managing daily deliverables and workflow, ensuring timely delivery of stakeholder requirements.
  • Mentor Health and Safety Advisors and ensure continuous personal development.
  • Developing and reviewing health and safety audit plans and schedules, ensure timely completion of incident investigations and lessons learned, and maintain up-to-date health and safety documents in line with new legislation and practices.
  • Planning and reviewing health and safety training components of the corporate training matrix, develop knowledge and skills in the area of specialism, and be a key part of the site Emergency Response Team.


The Health & Safety Manager will have:


  • NEBOSH Diploma (or equivalent) strongly desirable. We are willing to look at candidates at Certificate level.
  • Health & Safety experience ideally in pharmaceutical, R&D, chemical or a higher education background.
  • Good presentation, communication and influencing skills, able to engage and collaborate with various organizational functions
  • Ability to thrive in a collaborative environment, respects others, and works together to achieve better outcomes for themselves and customers.
