Role Overview:

Are you a visionary technology leader ready to shape the future of enterprise architecture on a global scale? Spirax Group is seeking aHead of Architectureto define and evolve our enterprise technology systems, ensuring they drive innovation, efficiency, and tangible business value. Reporting directly to the Group IT Director, this role offers the opportunity to lead transformative change across a world-class portfolio of products and services.

Your objectives and responsibilities will focus on…

  • Setting the strategic direction for enterprise solutions across all domains—applications, infrastructure, cyber-security, and data.
  • Developing and maintaining enterprise architecture roadmaps, ensuring alignment with business strategy.
  • Engaging with business leaders and C-suite stakeholders, translating strategic goals into a clear, actionable technical vision.
  • Evaluating and advocating for emerging technologies, including AI/ML, to maintain a competitive edge.
  • Establishing and enforcing architectural governance, ensuring consistency, quality, and risk management.
  • Leading and mentoring a growing team, starting with 3 direct reports and expanding to 10, while influencing approximately 30 embedded architects across the business.
  • Driving transformation initiatives, occasionally leading dedicated teams to deliver major change.

Your previous experience is likely to include…

  • Substantial experience in engineering architecture, including 5+ years in a leadership role.
  • Proven expertise in at least three of the following domains:
    • Application Architecture
    • Infrastructure Architecture (Azure preferred)
    • Data Architecture
    • Security Architecture
  • A strong track record of designing and implementing large-scale, distributed enterprise systems.
  • Hands-on experience and a deep understanding of architectural frameworks (e.g., TOGAF, Zachman) and modern integration patterns (APIs, microservices, event-driven architecture).

  • Hold professional certifications in TOGAF/Zachman and cloud platforms.
  • Be familiar with corporate governance and compliance frameworks.
  • Demonstrate strong leadership and interpersonal skills, with a passion for mentoring and upskilling global teams.
  • Possess exceptional communication skills and a collaborative mindset, with the ability to influence stakeholders at all levels.
