About Future Horizons Science and Technology Naturals:
 

FHS&T’s remit is to pursue and build strategic advantages in prioritised areas of science and technology application to deliver growth in strategic key verticals that enable our brands/BUs to take up future leadership positions through Deep Human understanding and unique & differentiated Trusted Science. The FHS&T group translates new approaches learnt in the process of building strategic science & technology into new capabilities for R&D.

The Naturals & Green Science H3 Platform focuses on building a cross-Haleon emerging science & technology roadmap focused on Horizon 3 naturals & green science category-defining science & technology via identification, partnering and de-risking early-stage relevant science & technology from across the globe targeted at our platform areas e.g. Systemic inflammation, Advanced cellular ageing, Gut & Mental health and mobility.

The New Naturals Science Principle Scientist role focuses on:

Owns the portfolio of science & technology partnerships for Horizon 3 Naturals & Green Scienc e building the approach to engage/advocate/define Evolving IP, Regulatory and Medical landscape Build and guide the Trusted Science in Horizon 3 Naturals & Green Science new API solutions for opportunities that could integrate Category/BU H3 opportunities


Role Responsibilities:

Own and build the Horizon 3 new naturals & green science technology roadmap: set the strategy for Haleon for the specific defined domain, own the Technology Product Roadmap (technology into consumer), deliver the prioritised building blocks within the roadmap, IP lead & strategy for defined domain

Build the enabling ecosystem H3 new naturals & green science: Build & manage the external ecosystem for the defined domain, lead external leverage and technology acquisition/access strategy, supplier Base innovation Partnerships

Lead Industry consortia and build advocacy plans for unregulated spaces: Consortium access for new to industry solutions, new financial mechanisms to access for new technology solutions (internal & external), new approaches to engaging advocacy in unregulated spaces

Build new capabilities: Identify and build future proof capabilities to support Haleon’s future natural & green science spaces leading internal vs external, physical vs digital, micro-lab to pilot scale up fit for purpose planning

Thought leadership: Externally recognised as leading voice / player in new naturals & green science with a clear influence strategy (regulatory & medical advocacy strategy, HCP networks etc)

Facilitate knowledge exchange and collaboration within H3 naturals & green science platfrom as well as more broadly across FHS&T.

Actively facilitate networking and partnership activities with Categories and BUs

Build a network of functional experts within the broader CH R&D organisation (eg. FHS&T, Innovation Research, Category/BU R&D Leads etc) to support H3 naturals & green science opportunities

Basic Qualifications:

Bachelor of Science Degree in Chemistry, Pharmacy, Pharmacology, Biochemistry or Biological science

Degree in Herbal Medicines, Ayurveda or traditional Asian Medicines would be an advantage
 

Preferred Experience:

Experience in FMCG or Healthcare

Scientific research experience in extraction, standardisation, characterisation, authentication, mode of action, clinical and pre-clinical experience of herbal ingredients or herbal products

Global experience in Consumer Science/Products Research (qualitative & quantitative research, consumer modelling, upstream/front end consumer need definition AND downstream/product validation and claims substantiation)

Expertise in Behavioral Science, Habit understanding and new Habit formation

Expertise in developing novel methodologies

Excellent analytical skills, including strategic thinking Leadership, communication and influencing skills, ability to lead change

Haleon offers a robust Total Reward package that consists of competitive pay and a comprehensive benefits program. This includes a generous 401(k) plan, tuition reimbursement and time off programs including 6 months paid parental leave. On day one, you are eligible for benefits, including our healthcare programs where the company pays for the majority of your medical coverage for you and your family. We also offer the opportunity to receive a discretionary bonus based on the achievement of key business performance and other incentive/recognition programs as part of the offering. The salary range for this role is: $121,168 to $163,933 plus an 18% bonus.
