Job Description:

The Vendor Chaperone will work across three buildings to oversee vendors, facilitating communication between scientists, service providers, and LET engineers. The goal is to maximise up time for maintenance purposes. The individual must be adept at troubleshooting and resolving issues swiftly and effectively, while consistently demonstrating meticulous attention to detail.

Key Accountabilities:

  • Responsible for collecting vendors and delivering them to their final destination, ensuring the completion of work order activities within the department while maintaining high service standards and compliance.

  • Support the LET Team with task-related activities such as freezer transfers, speed vacs, and HPLC waste management.

  • Manage equipment stock and inventory using a Kanban approach.

  • Participate in laboratory inspections, taking responsibility for the execution of follow-up actions.

  • Assist the team with the sending and receiving of departmental equipment.

  • Serve as a liaison between scientists, service providers, and the engineering department for issues related to breakdowns, preventative maintenance, or calibration control activities.

  • Possess strong computer skills and excellent organisational abilities.
