Due to an increase in upcoming projects, there is now a need for a Commissioning Manager to join this highly successful and forward-thinking organisation.

Our client is one of the largest facilities management and maintenance contractors in the UK, offering market leading opportunities for talented professionals looking for long term career progression.

We are looking for a Commissioning Manager who wants to work in a diverse role where no two days are the same.

The Commissioning Manager, will be responsible for:



Managing the end-to-end commissioning process of MEP services from project inception through to handover and client training.

Acting as the Commissioning (Cx) Manager and leading all commissioning-related activities and meetings.

*

Undertaking commissionability reviews and producing associated reports, including evaluations of drawings, schematics, specifications, and manufacturer proposals.

*

Producing a Commissioning Plan and Strategy, detailing testing requirements and procedures across five levels:

*

Level 1 – Product Testing (FAT)

*

Level 2 – Component Verification

*

Level 3 – Field Inspections & Certifications

*

Level 4 – Systems Acceptance Testing / Pre-IST

*

Level 5 – Integrated Systems Testing (IST)

*

Creating and maintaining a Commissioning Responsibility Matrix, identifying training requirements, and ensuring alignment with construction specifications.

*

Integrating commissioning activities with the project programme and coordinating dependencies with the wider project team.

*

Developing, managing, and closing out all commissioning documentation, scripts, logs, and reports throughout construction and testing phases.

*

Managing commissioning personnel on site and tracking workforce allocation.

*

Reporting internally and externally on progress, issues, and commissioning milestones.

*

Overseeing commissioning tagging procedures and ensuring documentation is completed and signed off.

*

Ensuring compliance with project schedules, quality standards, and client expectations during all stages.

*

Managing sub-contractors, approving RAMS, and overseeing their activities on site.

*

Coordinating with vendors and internal trades to maintain workflow and deliverables.

*

Ensuring site health and safety procedures are followed during commissioning, with regular liaison with H&S managers.

*

Supporting the production of O&M documentation, QA/QC records, and client handover packs.

*

Performing problem resolution and root cause analysis during commissioning activities.

*

Participating in all relevant meetings, including project reviews, planning sessions, engineering reviews, and handovers.

*

Conducting quality inspections and issuing weekly progress reports.

To be successful for this Commissioning Manager role you must have:

*

A relevant qualification in engineering (ONC, HND, or Degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or Building Services).

*

Proven experience in MEP commissioning management, particularly in mechanical and/or electrical infrastructure.

*

Demonstrated experience in live, critical working environments such as data centres, laboratories, pharmaceutical, or heavy industrial sectors.

*

Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills with a client-focused approach.

*

Strong commercial awareness and the ability to manage budgets, schedules, and resources effectively.

*

A valid CSCS card, IOSH or SMSTS certification, a vaid first aid at work qualification. You must also have comptency in IT and analytical tools, with the ability to manage documentation and reporting.

*

Full UK driving licence and willingness to travel or stay away based on project requirements, and operate in shift work and unsociable hours when necessary.
