The Royal Marsden NHS Foundation Trust is Europe’s largest comprehensive cancer centre, internationally renowned for excellence in cancer care, research, education, and innovation. In partnership with the Institute of Cancer Research (ICR), we are recognised globally as one of the top five centres for the impact of cancer research.

As a specialist cancer hospital and national Biomedical Research Centre, The Royal Marsden delivers a unique, integrated model that combines NHS services, private care, and cutting-edge research. Our Private Care Division is the most successful NHS private patient unit in the UK, with all income reinvested into the Trust to enhance services for every patient.

We are seeking a visionary and commercially astute Commercial Director to lead the growth strategy of our Private Care Division. This is a pivotal leadership role, responsible for:

  • Driving commercial strategy and sustainable growth across all customer groups
  • Strengthening and expanding strategic relationships with both UK and international sponsors
  • Innovating new services and care propositions that respond to evolving market needs
  • Leading the development and execution of a robust pricing strategy

With limited physical expansion capacity in the near term, the next five years will require forward-thinking, creativity, and a strategic mindset. The successful candidate will also play a key role in shaping opportunities arising from the redevelopment of our Chelsea site, due to open from 2031.

We are looking for a commercially experienced, intellectually creative leader with a strong track record in the private healthcare sector. You will be passionate about patient-centred care and have the vision and drive to help maintain The Royal Marsden’s position as a global leader in private cancer care.

The Royal Marsden is committed to building a diverse and inclusive workforce where everyone feels valued and respected. We welcome applications from individuals of all backgrounds.
