We are seeking applicants from all sectors and trainee backgrounds. If you are enthusiastic and committed then you could be just one step away from being a clinical pharmacist in our team of clinical, specialist, highly specialist and prescribing pharmacists, medicines management technicians and assistants.

The Pharmacy department at Lancashire Teaching Hospitals Trust (LTHTr) is an innovative and welcoming place to work and we are searching for motivated pharmacists including new registrants, and those from other sectors to join us and help us reach our ambitious targets.

As a department we aim to ensure every patient is assessed against pharmaceutical clinical priorities. This includes a team of medicines management assistants, ward-based technicians, pharmacist prescribers and satellite pharmacies at ward level to ensure an efficient patient-facing service that is fully integrated into the multi-disciplinary team.

This post is based across both sites - Royal Preston Hospital and Chorley and South Ribble Hospital.

Following a thorough induction period you will gain experience through rotations across a number of different specialties as a clinical pharmacist at LTHTR. You will be fully supported by your line manager, highly specialist lead pharmacists, and our prescribing pharmacists during each rotation.

You will be encouraged to develop professionally including completion of in-house clinical training and education, and a post-graduate clinical diploma. As a large and forward-thinking department, you will have the opportunity to work with a large team of pharmacists in a wide range of clinical roles with progression opportunities across a number of different areas.

Our ambition is for you to flourish as a clinical pharmacist and in doing so, for our department to deliver an excellent and innovative pharmacy service to our patients and the Trust.

We recognise that the health and wellbeing of our workforce is really important, and we are fully committed to providing flexible working opportunities to balance work and life commitments outside of the standard shift patterns and hours. Currently, around 40% of our pharmacists have an agreed flexible working arrangement to balance their professional ambition and commitments outside of the workplace.
