Merco Medical are delighted to support the recruitment of a Primary Care Pharmacist for a progressive, patient-focused practice in the scenic coastal town of Minehead, Somerset.

Location: Minehead, Somerset
Salary: Up to £55,000 FTE (DOE)
Hours: 30 hours per week (Part-Time)
Contract Type: Permanent

The Opportunity

This is an exciting opportunity for a knowledgeable and proactive Pharmacist to join a growing multidisciplinary team. You’ll play a pivotal role in enhancing medicines optimisation, prescribing safety, and pharmaceutical care across the practice.

The service is undergoing a transformative period and offers a supportive, collaborative environment, with an emphasis on delivering care that is personal, effective, and safe.

Key Responsibilities

Provide expert guidance on medicines, repeat prescriptions, and pharmaceutical care
Support prescribing audits and the safe management of high-risk drugs
Conduct remote and face-to-face patient consultations
Prescribe urgent medications using summary care records
Identify and manage clinical risks and medication-related queries
Act on safeguarding concerns in line with clinical protocols
Collaborate with the wider MDT to drive service improvement
Maintain accurate records using EMIS
What We’re Looking For

Registered with the General Pharmaceutical Council (GPhC)
Non-Medical Prescribing qualification
Completed or due to complete the CPPE Pathway
Substantial experience in primary care settings
Confident in both remote and face-to-face consultations
Skilled in high-risk prescribing and repeat medication systems
Excellent communication, organisation, and critical thinking abilities
Knowledge of safeguarding and adult/child protection protocols
EMIS experience preferred
