The Chiltern Hospitalin Great Missendenis part of Circle Health Group, Britain's leading provider of independent healthcare with a nationwide network of hospitals & clinics, performing more complex surgery than any other private healthcare provider in the country.

We have an opportunity for a Clinical Pharmacist to join their team of staff in the Pharmacy department.

This is a bank role working on an “as and when required” basis, you will be required to supplement staffing levels during busy periods and provide cover for existing staff in times of annual leave or absence.

Duties Of This Role Include

  • Conduct medication reviews for inpatients and outpatients, identifying interactions, contraindications, and opportunities for medicines optimisation.
  • Provide tailored advice to patients on their treatment plans, including side effects, compliance, and lifestyle considerations.
  • Support safe prescribing through reconciliation, clinical screening, and dose adjustment (e.g., renal or hepatic impairment).
  • Review and authorise prescriptions in line with clinical guidelines, formulary restrictions, and regulatory requirements.
  • Promote safe and cost-effective use of medicines by supporting adherence to local and national policies.
  • Participate in antimicrobial stewardship programmes and assist with monitoring high-risk medications (e.g., anticoagulants, cytotoxics, opioids).

Applicants Should Meet The Following Criteria

  • A master’s degree in pharmacy (MPharm or equivalent).
  • GPhC registration as a Pharmacist.
  • Previous experience in a clinical hospital pharmacy role.
  • Strong knowledge of therapeutics, clinical guidelines, and pharmaceutical legislation.
  • Excellent communication and clinical decision-making skills.
  • Ability to work autonomously and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
  • Confident using electronic prescribing and medication administration systems (e.g., EPMA).
