Job Summary

Could you be our next Client Manager, based at our site in High Peak, Derbyshire?

Have you got the ability to upsell and expand on existing relationships?

Do you have a Biological Science focus degree?

You will represent the company to external and internal customers, answer service and technology-related questions, interpret and clarify customer study designs to place into proposals/contracts, develop pricing strategies for customer contracts and negotiate for maximum company revenue. You will also assist in developing strategies to grow current business as well as win new business. The role will also require you to provide valuable insight into forecasting services by business line, customer and facility as well as ensuring maximum capacity utilisation by working with operations to identify studies and clients to prioritise.

Main Tasks

Assist operation in drafting proposals and schedules of work (SOWs).

Qualify bids and scopes of work with client to ensure appropriate service is provided.

Work with the Legal team to ensure all required legal documents are in place.

Work closely and effectively with the High Peak Client Service team, and the wider CRL Sales / Business Development team to progress opportunities optimally.

Follow up with clients in conjunction with Business Development to ensure that proposals/study plans are complete and answer their needs.

Creatively identify ways to secure open opportunities by working with scientific staff, finance, management and others.

Identify new business opportunities with clients and liaise with appropriate internal staff for follow-up.

Develop and / or review proposals and SOWs for accuracy.

When appropriate, prepare sale price estimates for protocols, bid requests, study revisions and additions using site's suggested selling price.

Review and approve bid and proposal packages within authorised limits.

Assist management in monitoring sale pricing practices to determine accuracy and relevance to study type, service and operation processes.

Assist management in making recommendations on desirable proposals based on established financial and operational criteria, as required.

Ensure that scientific staff visiting clients are fully informed about clients needs.

Daily management of pipeline data in SalesForce (CRM).

Work with Project Management Office / Finance and Operations to ensure accurate pipeline data are available.

Job Qualifications

Bachelor's degree (B.A. / B.S.) or equivalent in biological science related subject.
Proven experience of working within the pharma/bioscience industry or equivalent.
Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal English.
High levels of self-motivation and proactivity under minimal supervision.
Ability to work in a dynamic working environment
Ability to deal with priorities and tight deadlines.
Track record of consistently achieving or over-achieving targets.
Proficient in Microsoft Office and other IT platforms.
Good numeracy and literacy skills.
Strong attention to detail.

Specific Skills

A sufficient understanding of the drug discovery process (especially biologics) and biological/medical science to be able to hold appropriate credible scientific and business discussions with drug discovery and academic clients.
Experience of presenting scientific data to a variety of stakeholders.

Advantageous Skills

Second language (particularly Mandarin, Japanese, Korean).
Experience using a Customer Relationship Management tool, particularly Salesforce.
Experience of working with clients based in Asia.
Experience in a contract research and / or pharmaceutical setting preferred.
Experience in client-facing roles with project management skills.
