About the Role

Octapharma Ltd is seeking a commercially driven and relationship-focused Hospital Business Manager to manage key hospital accounts across London. This strategic position plays a vital role in promoting the company’s portfolio of plasma-derived and recombinant products, driving sales growth, and fostering strong partnerships with influential healthcare professionals.


Operating as part of a well-established team, the successful candidate will work in a hybrid capacity, balancing field-based engagement with remote working, depending on business needs. Given London’s concentration of major healthcare institutions, this is a high-impact territory with significant potential for business development and professional advancement.


Candidates may be based in either of the two defined territories:

  • North Central and North East London and East of England, or
  • North West, South East, and South West London.

The Position

This hybrid role, based in London, presents a high-impact opportunity within a collaborative team of three. The Hospital Business Manager will play a key role in driving business growth by converting key accounts and cultivating strong stakeholder relationships. The position involves executing tactical sales and marketing plans, developing strategic account plans, and promoting the full product portfolio through both virtual and in-person engagement. Success in this role depends on strong account management, planning, and communication skills, as well as a commitment to collaboration, adherence to the ABPI Code of Practice, and consistently upholding the highest standards of professionalism and integrity.

 

Key Responsibilities

Account & Customer Relationship Management

  • Manage a defined territory to drive sales and profitability.
  • Develop tailored account plans for existing and potential customers.
  • Build strong relationships with key decision-makers.
  • Maintain consistent, value-driven communication.

 

Customer Engagement & Needs Analysis

  • Understand and respond to customer needs through direct engagement.
  • Set clear objectives for each interaction.
  • Leverage customer insights to inform decision-making.

 

Sales & Business Development

  • Identify and pursue new sales opportunities.
  • Build networks and represent the company at events.
  • Use market and competitor insights to inform strategy.

 

CRM & Data Management

  • Keep customer data accurate and up to date in the CRM.
  • Use data to support retention and targeted development.

 

Cross-functional Collaboration

  • Align account plans with business goals and sales targets.
  • Coordinate with internal teams to deliver initiatives effectively.

 

Compliance & Operational Excellence

  • Follow company policies and industry regulations.
  • Ensure full compliance with the ABPI Code of Practice and legal standards.

 

Ideal Candidate

This role is ideal for a results-oriented professional with a strong background in pharmaceutical sales and key account management. You will bring:

 

  • A degree in Life Sciences or a related field (or equivalent experience).
  • Proven success in a similar sales or account management role within the pharmaceutical industry.
  • A solid understanding of the NHS landscape, including commercial and procurement processes.
  • Excellent interpersonal and influencing skills, with the ability to build trust and drive engagement.
  • Strong verbal and written communication abilities.
  • Effective time management, planning, and organisational skills.
  • A proactive, self-motivated approach with a passion for delivering results.
  • Flexibility and adaptability in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.
