Bespak is looking for an onsite Chemical Process Engineer on 12-month fixed term contract on our Holmes Chapel site, CW4 8BE. The salary range for this permanent onsite role is between £50k and £54k, this includes the shift allowances. Other benefits you will receive are 25 days leave plus bank holidays, a generous 10% pension contribution, onsite free parking, and medical / dental / health / life assurance

Working Pattern

Monday to Friday usual working times of 8:30am to 5:00pm with an 8:30 am to 3:45pm finish on a Friday. There is some flexibility on start and finish times

As a Chemical Process Engineer, you will be responsible for the design, optimization, and troubleshooting of (pMDI

asthma inhaler type devices) production processes, ensuring efficiency, safety, and adherence to regulatory guidelines. You'll collaborate with cross-functional teams to scale up new products, implement process improvements, and maintain equipment in optimal condition. Additionally, you'll play a key role in ensuring compliance with cGMP, FDA, and EMA standards, participating in validation activities and maintaining comprehensive documentation. Your expertise and commitment to continuous improvement will be crucial in driving operational excellence and meeting company objectives.

Bespak in Holmes Chapel is an Investors in People Silver Award-winning pharmaceutical CDMO with over 350 employees, currently going through a period of significant site expansion. We are investing heavily to increase our capacity for developing and manufacturing sustainable pMDIs (asthma inhalers) with greener propellants, meeting the evolving standards of the industry, while providing comprehensive development, manufacturing, filling, and finishing solutions for a range of medical devices, including SMIs, DPIs, nasal sprays, and medical check valves.

As a Chemical Process Engineer, your duties will include:

Develop and optimise pMDI production processes to enhance efficiency and quality.

Scale-up new product lines and implement technology transfers.

Ensure compliance with GMP, FDA, and EMA regulatory standards.

Troubleshoot equipment and implement preventive maintenance strategies.

Lead continuous improvement initiatives to optimise production processes.

Collaborate with cross-functional teams to achieve business objectives.

Chemical Process Engineer, beneficial key skills and experience:

Qualified in Chemical Engineering, or related field.

Experience in a manufacturing environment.

cGMP, FDA, and EMA knowledge is desirable.

Process validation experience (IQ/OQ/PQ).

Excellent communication and teamwork skills.

Holmes Chapel is a beautiful village in Cheshire with excellent transport links via its railway station on the Crewe-Manchester Line, proximity to the motorway network and Manchester Airport. The Parks of the Peak District, Lake District and Eryri (Snowdonia) are within easy reach. The village has a population of nearly 7,000 and offers various amenities, including supermarkets, shops, restaurants, schools, and a GP practice.

This could suit someone who has experience as a Manufacturing Process Engineer, Production Engineer or an Operations Process Engineer.
