The Role:


As a Scientific Business Manager, you will be instrumental in driving the growth and profitability of our scientific recruitment division. You will be responsible for developing and executing strategic business plans, building and nurturing key client relationships, and leading a team of talented recruitment consultants. This is a fantastic opportunity for an ambitious individual to make a significant impact and shape the future of our scientific recruitment offering.


Key Responsibilities:


  • Strategic Business Development:Identify and pursue new business opportunities within the scientific sector, developing and implementing effective sales strategies to achieve ambitious growth targets.
  • Client Relationship Management:Build and maintain strong, long-lasting relationships with key clients, understanding their recruitment needs and providing tailored solutions.
  • Team Leadership and Development:Lead, mentor, and motivate a team of recruitment consultants, fostering a high-performance culture and ensuring the delivery of exceptional service.
  • Market Expertise:Stay abreast of industry trends, market intelligence, and competitor activity within the scientific sector to identify opportunities and maintain a competitive edge.
  • Financial Management:Take ownership of the P&L for the scientific division, managing budgets, forecasting revenue, and ensuring profitability.
  • Operational Excellence:Ensure efficient and compliant recruitment processes, leveraging technology and best practices to optimise service delivery.
  • Collaboration:Work closely with other business managers and internal teams to share best practices and contribute to the overall success of the organisation.


What We're Looking For:


  • Proven track record of success in a business development or sales management role, ideally within the recruitment industry or a related scientific field.
  • Strong understanding of the scientific landscape, including key sectors such as pharmaceuticals, biotechnology, life sciences, chemicals, and environmental science.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and presentation skills, with the ability to build rapport and influence stakeholders at all levels.
  • Demonstrated leadership ability with experience in managing and developing high-performing teams.
  • Commercial acumen and a results-oriented mindset with a strong focus on achieving targets and driving growth.
  • Strong organisational and time management skills with the ability to prioritise and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • A proactive and self-motivated approach with a passion for continuous learning and improvement.
