    Role Overview
    The Business Development Manager will play a crucial role in driving business growth by identifying and developing new sales opportunities while nurturing existing client relationships. Reporting to the Head of Sales and working closely with the Commercial team, this role involves strategic planning, client engagement, and ensuring key performance indicators (KPIs) are consistently met.

    Key Responsibilities
  • Develop a strategic understanding of service portfolio and market segments.
  • Lead the development of new service offerings based on market demands and industry trends.
  • Drive client acquisition and retention strategies, fostering long-term partnerships.
  • Oversee sales planning and prioritisation to align with corporate growth objectives.
  • Shape and execute a results-driven sales strategy using market intelligence and data analytics.
  • Manage the sales lifecycle, collaborating with internal teams to tailor solutions to client needs.
  • Act as a senior liaison for high-profile clients, ensuring service excellence.
  • Provide strategic input to commercial and marketing initiatives.
  • Represent at national and international trade events.
  • Implement and monitor advanced sales performance metrics.
  • Uphold corporate governance and travel policies, with up to 25% travel required.
  • Commit to ongoing professional development and industry engagement.

    Essential Skills and Experience
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in business development / sales in the Life Science vertical
  • Proven track record of meeting or exceeding sales targets and KPIs.
  • Strong understanding of the sales process, client relationship management, and market development strategies.
  • Proficiency in CRM systems for lead management and sales reporting.
  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
  • Degree or equivalent qualification in a relevant field (e.g., Microbiology, Chemistry).
  • Awareness of GLP, GMP, ISO standards, and compliance frameworks.
  • High level of self-motivation, resilience, and adaptability.
  • Strong analytical skills to monitor market trends and competitor activities.
