Bioprocessing Manager


We are seeking a highly capable Bioprocessing Manager to lead a dynamic team of Senior Scientists and manufacturing operatives. This critical role is responsible for delivering consistent GMP manufacturing performance, coaching high-potential technical staff, and driving compliance, safety, and continuous improvement within a regulated environment.


Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee the recruitment, onboarding, and ongoing training of GMP-compliant manufacturing personnel
  • Ensure full compliance with GMP, Data Integrity, and Good Documentation Practice (GDP) across all team activities and documentation.
  • Maintain up-to-date, right-first-time records for Issues, CAPAs, Change Controls, BMRs, and audit/inspection actions
  • Guarantee that all training, both personal and for team members, is completed before tasks are undertaken and in full alignment with regulatory standards
  • Deliver manufacturing outputs on schedule, aligned with both short-term schedules and medium-term manufacturing plans
  • Foster a robust quality culture in collaboration with Quality teams, embedding best practices and a “right first time” mindset
  • Lead the planning and development of manufacturing team capabilities to enable routine, reliable GMP commercial supply operations
  • Promote a safety-first culture, ensuring safe systems of work and personal accountability
  • Drive and manage continuous improvement projects focused on yield optimisation, deviation reduction, and overall reliability


Essential Competencies and Experience

  • Demonstrated leadership of advanced biochemical drug substance manufacturing to cGMP requirements
  • Operational management of health and safety in a dynamic, regulated environment
  • Expertise in building effective performance systems, workflows, and SOPs for scalable operations
  • Skilled in structured problem solving, root cause analysis, and cross-functional collaboration
  • A continuous improvement mindset with the ability to foster capability growth across teams
