The Dietetics team at Pulse are currently recruiting for a Band 7 Dietitian in Chertsey. The successful Dietitian will be working part-time hours across the week, Monday to Friday. We are looking for a Dietitian to provide highly specialized expert advice concerning the dietary care planning for patients using Diabetes Insulin pumps, glucose monitors and hybrid closed loop systems caseload. This will involve the review of nutritional requirements based on the interpretation of biochemistry, anthropometry, clinical condition and other physical parameters. Experience in the NHS would be desirable.

Essential skills:

HCPC registered Experience of covering general medical and surgical wards Relevant qualification in Dietetics.

To have experience of working in a dietetic service with patients in a wide range of consultant led Diabetes clinics including:

General Diabetes clinics Diabetes complication clinics Young Adult Diabetes clinics Gestational Diabetes clinics Transitional Diabetes clinics (children transferring to young adult clinics)  To advise consultants on final treatment plans for patients based upon specialist dietary assessment. To advise patients on dose changes to their medication and insulin therapy as agreed with the Diabetes team and in line with written policy. To have the skills to be able to deliver an intensive group education programmed for type 1 Diabetes providing individuals with highly complex nutrition advice including calculation of carbohydrate intake and appropriate adjustments to insulin doses.
