Main duties of the job
We are seeking a qualified, energetic, and enthusiastic individual to join our friendly team. The successful candidate will be responsible for preparing samples and performing diagnostic tests using both automated and manual methods, under the supervision of scientific staff. The individual will be required to work on the out of hours system on a shift based roster.
Key Responsibilities:- Receive and process samples following established procedures.- Assist in the maintenance and monitoring of laboratory equipment.- Enter patient data into the laboratory information management system (LIMS).- Perform basic laboratory tests under the supervision of a registered Biomedical Scientist (BMS).
Required Skills and Experience:- Proficient keyboard skills with strong literacy and numeracy for data entry and basic analytics.- Ability to prioritize tasks, manage time effectively, and work under pressure to ensure smooth sample flow through the pathology department.- Cheerful, motivated, and capable of working collaboratively as part of a team.- Attention to detail and the ability to follow procedures accurately.- Excellent communication skills to interact effectively with all laboratory users.

About the Role:We are seeking a dedicated individual to join our out of hours shift roster within Laboratory Medicine departments as part of our team of associate practitioners. This is a full-time position ( hours per week), requiring flexibility to work late shifts, night shifts and weekdays on a rotating schedule.
Key Responsibilities:Assist in the departments of Haematology / Blood transfusion / Biochemistry and Pre-analytics.Support diagnostic testing and compliance with established protocols and procedures.
Requirements:Commitment to working late shifts, night shifts and weekends.Enthusiasm for contributing to a collaborative and dynamic team environment.Previous experience working in a laboratory would be an advantage.Excellent attention to to work under pressure with excellent communication skills essential.
