Assistant Quantity Surveyor - Cambridgeshire

On behalf of a leading main contractor in the Cambridge (and surrounding areas) market, we are keen to speak with Assistant Quantity Surveyors who would like to the opportunity to work on some Cambridgeshire’s landmark buildings with a supportive and highly successful employer.

Our Clients construction projects offer a diverse range of work including pharmaceutical, healthcare, education, automotive and commercial sectors with project values up to £70m.

This is predominantly a site-based role, working as part of the wider project team to deliver budget, programme and quality. Therefore a collaborative approach and a full UK driving license is essential.

Assistant Quantity Surveyor

As part of the project delivery team, the successful candidate will work closely with the wider team to deliver first class commercial support through communication, teamwork and accurate financial reporting.

Duties will include.

  • Assisting with the preparation of contracts, cash flow forecasts and final accounts.

  • Input into the procurement of key trades, working in line with the project procurement strategy.

  • Managing supply chain relationships through building and maintaining strong relationships

  • Providing financial information for reporting purposes and attending CVR meetings

  • Visiting sites to undertake measures and re-measures

  • Assisting in the management and control of variations

  • Value, certify and issue any relevant payment notices for the subcontract works in accordance with the conditions of their subcontract.

  • Ensure that external valuations are submitted in accordance with conditions of the main contract and that payments are received by the due date.

    About You

    Proven experience of working on new build or refurbishments projects in a similar role
    Sime experience of procuring trade packages
    Strong numerical and IT skills, especially MS Excel
    Experience in re-measurement of key trades packages
    Experience of assisting cost control on construction projects
    Valid UK driving licence
