Sutton Recruitment are accepting applications for a Welder to join a leading global storage solution provider, dedicated to offering innovative and reliable storage options worldwide.

The client allows businesses and consumers to store anything, anywhere, in flexible, safe and responsible ways.
With a legacy dating back to the 1980’s, they have revolutionised the global storage industry and evolved into the world’s largest family-owned containerised storage solutions company.

An extensive presence spanning 90 countries, offering a comprehensive range of storage options through six distinct brands. From self-storage to temperature-controlled facilities and dry storage, catering to a wide range of industries such as pharmaceuticals, food, and renewable energy.

The Company currently operates globally with 24 sites in the UK with further growth anticipated.

Job Description
As a Welder you will have experience/knowledge, you will be responsible for maintaining the workshop and depot, ensuring all equipment is in good working order, and performing welding tasks as required. Your role will involve a variety of tasks, including equipment maintenance, inventory management, and welding projects.

Key Responsibilities
• Occasional welding tasks, including MIG welding, as needed.
• Maintain and repair workshop equipment and tools to ensure they are in good working condition.
• Manage inventory of materials, tools and equipment, ensuring that stock levels are maintenance and properly organised.
• Assist with the preparation and organisation of materials for welding and other workshop projects.
• Ensure the workshop and depot are clean, organised, and comply with safety regulations.
• Follow all health and safety regulations and company policies to maintain a safe working environment.
• Collaborate with team members to complete tasks efficiently and to be a high standard.
• Provide support to other departments as needed, ensuring smooth coordination between teams.
• Assist in troubleshooting and resolving any technical issues related to equipment or welding processes.
• Undertake any other tasks or duties commensurate with the role as required by the business.

Requirements:
• Experience as a welder, in MIG welding techniques advantageous.
• Strong knowledge of workshop equipment and tools.
• Excellent organisational skills with the ability to manage time effectively and prioritise tasks.
• Ability to work both independently and as part of a team, demonstrating a strong work ethic and accountability.
• High attention to detail and a commitment to quality craftsmanship.
• Good communication skills, with the ability to interact effectively with colleagues and other departments.
• Relevant certifications in welding and workshop safety are preferred.

Preferable FLT Licence and experience of driving FLT.

NOTE - SAFETY FIRST at all times - you must never put yourself and / or any other individual in any danger by undertaking tasks that you have not been trained on or in / not competent on or in.

What’s on offer?

Workplace: Bristol Depot plus travelling to other Self Store / Depots to assist as and when necessary. Along with the ability to attend customer sites to assist with fitting out stores as and when necessary.

Travel activity: Travel within the UK to support other workplaces.

Start date: ASAP

Salary: £28,000.00 – dependent on experience - negotiable for the right person.

Bonus: Discretionary annual bonus paid annually - currently in March.

Holidays: 25 days per annum plus bank holidays

Life Assurance: Day 1 benefit.

Health Insurance: After 3 months and on the next entry point of either April or October.

Salary Date: On or before 25th of each month.

Company Equipment: All PPE and tools needed as necessary.

Hours of work: 40 hours per week 8am – 5pm plus overtime as and when necessary to fulfil the role, paid at time and a half after 40 hours have been worked.
