We are representing a leading private biotechnology company headquartered in the UK, currently seeking an exceptionalVice President or Senior Vice President of Translational Medicine and Programme Leadership. This is a strategically critical position offering the opportunity to shape therapeutic direction and modality strategy across a diverse and innovative pipeline.


The successful candidate will bring deep translational expertise, strong leadership capability, and a proven track record of advancing early stage drug discovery programmes toward clinical development. This role offers a unique platform to work at the forefront of modality science, in an organisation integrating experimental biology, computational approaches, and partnership-driven execution.


Key Responsibilities


  • Lead the strategy and execution of multiple early discovery and development programmes from target identification through to IND enabling studies
  • Define and implement cross programme modality strategies encompassing biologics, small molecules, RNA therapeutics and advanced therapies
  • Collaborate closely with internal wet lab and computational teams, ensuring integration of functional biology and machine learning approaches
  • Guide regulatory and clinical translation activities, ensuring scientific and operational readiness for early clinical development
  • Establish and manage relationships with key external partners, including modality providers and strategic collaborators
  • Contribute to broader portfolio and platform evolution, providing scientific and strategic input at the leadership level


Candidate Profile


  • PhD or equivalent advanced degree in a relevant scientific discipline such as immunology, fibrosis, metabolic diseases or molecular biology
  • At least 10 years of experience in the biotechnology, pharmaceutical or academic translational research sectors
  • Demonstrated expertise in therapeutic modality development and integration within early drug discovery and development programmes
  • Proven leadership within matrix and cross functional environments, with clear delivery of impactful translational outcomes
  • Experience working at the interface of experimental biology, data science and platform technologies is highly desirable
  • Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills, with the ability to influence at all levels
