You will workautonomously to assess the cases of people who are applying for thePersonal Independence Payment (PIP) benefit or a Work CapabilityAssessment (WCA) as part of the DWPs Health Assessment and AdvisoryServices (HAAS). This will involve holding consultations andwriting fair and accurate reports. You will only work to assesspeople for PIP or a WCA, not both. As part of your applicationprocess, we will advise you on which service you will work on anddiscuss what your training will involve. You do not need to haveworked as a Functional Assessor previously. Key responsibilitiesHolding telephone,video or in-person consultations with people who are applying forthe Personal Independence Payment (PIP) benefit or a WorkCapability Assessment (WCA). Assessing a variety of complexconditions and impairments. Using your strong verbal communicationskills and write high quality, fair and accurate assessment reportsusing a special IT system. Working with your line manager toadvance your own professional development and career as aFunctional Assessor.Essential experience and qualificationsMinimumof 12 months post-registration experience working as an Nurse (RGN,RMN, RNLD), Paramedic, Physiotherapist, Pharmacist or OccupationalTherapist.
