An exceptional opportunity for a Toxicologist to join an in-house product stewardship department at a global speciality chemicals company. You will take part in a unique professional development programme designed to fast-track your technical development to become a toxicology expert. This toxicology team provide support to product registrations, product development and commercialisation. The workload will be diverse and challenging covering a wide range of exposure scenarios for very complex speciality chemical products.


Suitable candidates are likely to have a post grad qualification (MSc) in Toxicology and ideally a degree in chemistry, or a good understanding of organic chemistry. You will be working with very complex chemistries so organic chemistry knowledge is essential. Ideally you will have some experience of toxicology or regulatory toxicology in an industrial setting, preferably within the chemical industry. Regulatory knowledge (REACH, TSCA, GHS, CLP) would be useful.


You must be interested in developing a broad knowledge of mammalian toxicology, have the intellectual ability to gain deep dive understanding when required, and be prepared to look at issues in other disciplines e.g. ecotoxicology. You will become a highly knowledgeable and versatile expert, able to support and find solution to any issues required (the focus will be mammalian toxicology). Confident communication skills are essential; you must be able to explain complex scientific issues in layman’s terms, you must be able to defend your findings but also be open to opinion and new concepts from you toxicological colleagues. The ability to work in a team in a collaborative manner is essential.
